Better questions. Better selection.
The essential information for an informed technical assessment.
Start with the reference. Check dimensions.
An OEM or existing part reference is a useful starting point. Outer diameter, inner diameter, height, connections and seal design complete the match.
Technical enquiry ↗Look beyond the micron rating.
Filters with the same micron rating may differ in efficiency, dirt-holding capacity and pressure drop. Compare technical documentation under equivalent test conditions.
Technical enquiry ↗Consider the operating conditions.
Fluid type, temperature, pressure, flow and contaminant loading affect filter selection. Check that the media and seal materials suit the application.
Technical enquiry ↗Frequently asked questions
Are two filters of the same size interchangeable?
Dimensions alone are not enough. Filtration performance, media, seals, pressure resistance and features such as bypass valves also need to be checked.
What information is needed for a replacement enquiry?
The existing brand and part number, dimensions, equipment or application, quantity and delivery location are the essentials. A label and technical documentation can also support the assessment.
Do catalogue icons show specific products?
Icons identify filter groups; they are not technical drawings of specific products. Specifications, images and availability for a particular part number need to be confirmed separately.
The right filter starts with the right information.
